To my collection on on #visualperception, visual phenomena and #opticalillusion I've just added a programmed version of Isia Leviant's painting “Enigma”, which is rather famous at least for vision researchers.
Previously, I had presented a high-resolution version of the painting. The present variant is fully programmed to look closely like the original, yet it allows to change parameters.
One thing I was specifically interested in was the colour choice. Interestingly, colours don't seem to matter for the apparent motion illusion, as you can test for yourself: https://michaelbach.de/ot/mot-enigma/
